CARE & WARRANTY

Care

Keep pets, people, and objects away from the curbing for at least 24 hours once we have completed your installation. Your curbing will be hard to the touch after 24 hours, but will still need several days to fully set up. If your curbing is damaged after the installation we can come back to make the necessary repairs; however, there will be a $200 minimum charge for this service and does not include haul away.

Sod laying, sprinkler and landscape work may be started 48 hours after installation, caution must be taken as shovels and wheel barrels can damage the curbing for several more days while it is curing. A full cure requires 28 days.  If you have a landscape contractor working for you, caution them about protecting the curb from damage. If wheel barrels will be used for hauling landscape material over the curbing, build a ramp over the curbing to keep the weight from cracking or damaging it. Never allow a tractor, bobcat, or truck to run over the curbing.

If it begins to rain within 4 hours after installation, try to cover the curbing with plastic. Make sure sprinklers do not come on for at least 24 hours. After 48 hours your curbing is free to be exposed to rain and water. Efflorescence (white powdery substance) can appear on occasion and can look unsightly on curbing. The intensity of efflorescence varies depending on the type or hardness of water, and the volume of water that gets on the curbing. We recommend checking your sprinkler heads while the system is on and adjusting them to minimize the amount of water spraying directly on the curbing. If you have just planted sod and are watering frequently, efflorescence may appear more readily. Wait for the lawn to get established, turn the water off for a few days, and scrub the curbing with a solution of 50/50 vinegar and water using a light scrub brush to remove the efflorescence. You may have to do this a few times but eventually the efflorescence will go away. Once in a while, curbing with color may appear blotchy for a few days or even weeks while the concrete is curing. This will go away as it fully cures and is not to be confused with efflorescence.

Sprinkler heads, telephone wires, cable TV and other buried utilities that are not marked prior to installation, will not be our responsibility if damaged by our equipment. We will make every effort to avoid these issues.

Warranty

Curb Appeal Landscape Curbing will offer a 2 year warranty on curbing with steel cable reinforcement installed, and a 1 year warranty without. This warranty covers against cracks, defects in materials, and craftsmanship used to install your curbing. This warranty does not cover efflorescence.  Concrete curbing, like other types of concrete, can and will crack. Defective or cracked sections will be replaced during the warranty period at no additional charge. Damage caused by weather or other natural occurrences is not covered. We do not warranty tree rings because of tree roots, or curbing installed along existing concrete flatwork.

It is important to note, that a hairline crack is much less noticeable than a patch or discoloration in the curbing, sometimes the ‘’cure’’ is worse than the ‘’ill’’, however, our bottom line is we want satisfied customers.
